Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in the travel behaviour of two groups of Koreans: those resident in Australia and those resident in Korea. A series of items measuring travel-specific lifestyle were analysed using factor analysis and cluster analysis. The two groups were classified into four clustered segments based on seven travel lifestyle factors. Chi-square tests were conducted to compare the two groups on the basis of the clusters as well as demographic variables and respondents’ travel experiences and preferences. The results included findings that, when comparing the two groups, those Koreans who had migrated to Australia were more likely to avoid group travel, take longer holidays and make travel arrangements without the aid of a travel advisor.
