| Abstract | Since the mid 1980s when Human Resource Management (HRM) arrived on the managerial agenda there has been considerable debate concerning its nature and its value to organisations. From the influential works emerging from the Michigan and Harvard schools the emphasis has very much concerned its strategic role in the organisation. This longitudinal study of a banking organisation provides case study material of how an HRM strategy was formulated and implemented in the banking world over the past decade. |
