Pane e Zucchero: My Sicilian Story

Abstract

This is a significant monograph celebrating the work of mid-career artist Sebastian Di Mauro. The monograph was published to coincide with the opening of a major survey exhibition of Di Mauro's practice, scheduled at QUT Art Museum 29 October 2009 – 31 January 2010. The exhibition was the first to undertake a career survey of Di Mauro and was the Museum's major show for 2009. It is part of a dedicated series of mid-career Queensland artist surveys QUT Art Museum is presenting to celebrate the work of these important artists. The full colour publication comprises: 96 pages, section sewn, approximately A4 in size; gate folded, embossed cover; approximately 50 pages of images; foreword and four original texts of 8000 words in total, including an essay written by the artist, and three texts that critically engage with Di Mauro's practice; full artist chronology with selected exhibitions and bibliography. 1000 copies of the monograph. The monograph will serve as an important tool for supporting the development of a Queensland artist and will extend the artist's opportunities both locally, nationally and internationally by increasing knowledge about his practice
