Abstract This paper reviews significant research pertaining to exposure sources for five contaminants known to be in raw wastewater. For all five contaminants investigated the estimated daily intake calculated to result from consumption of recycled water was several orders of magnitude below the estimated daily intake associated with other exposures such as food.
