Coworkers' leader-member exchange relationships and emotions: A social comparison perspective.
Abstract
This study develops and tests a model linking LMX relationships, social comparison orientation and emotional reactions in coworker dyads within work teams. Results showed that the similarity or dissimilarity of coworkers' LMX relationships influence their emotions (sympathy and contempt), only when their social comparison orientation is high rather than low.This study develops and tests a model linking LMX relationships, social comparison orientation and emotional reactions in coworker dyads within work teams.
