Abstract Due to high potential of cyclones and storm wind impacts in coastal zone, having the precise vision of wave properties under storm condition is one of the most important factors in carrying out risk management and mitigation processes. In presented study efforts are concentrated on analysis and prediction of stormy wave based on collected novel data under storm condition in order to cover the existing uncertainties which normally rise due to lack of field observation in most of the literatures. By using the manometer tube system, after Nielsen (1993), wave can be monitored while they travel from outer surfzone toward inner surfzone as well as water level setup profile even under severe storms. Recorded data from two extreme events in 2009 (i.e. cyclone Hamish and East Coast lows) are analysed by two different method namely wave-by-wave time domain approach and frequency domain approach in current study.
