| Abstract | A study was conducted to assess compliance by Australian drivers with drinking and driving laws. 1,133 drinkers in four Australian states of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia were surveyed. Analysis of the responses to the questionnaire revealed a high degree of awareness of the need to limit alcohol consumption amongst drivers. The amount of alcohol consumed by drivers was found to be less than that by the non-drivers especially in situations that involved drinking away from their home. |
