| Abstract | In a recent article, Wu and Nakamura suggested that previous estimates of the distance that the contractile filaments of muscle move for each ATP consumed were incorrectly calculated. However, Wu and Nakamura's conclusion was based on an erroneous calculation brought about by incorrect application of a formula used previously, and correctly, by Worthington and Elliott. The details of this error and its consequences are described. |
