The case studies in this chapter illustrate large reductions in crime through a range of situational interventions. Many of the cases involve collaboration between stakeholders, including police, security providers, business groups and residents. A number also illustrate the value of an experimental approach and running pilots before full implementation. The chapter concludes by drawing out lessons from the case studies, including the benefits of diagnostic research and the need for comprehensive impact measures. The case studies in this chapter illustrate large reductions in crime through a range of situational interventions.
